When Ellen MacArthur beat Francis Joyon's record for the quickest solo voyage around the world two years ago, she did so by 32 hours. Joyon is poised to grab the record back tomorrow night when he is due across the Ushant finish line an astonishing 13 days faster.
Joyon has already broken every solo, non-stop record on his circumnavigation, setting fastest times to each of the significant milestones at the equator, Cape of Good Hope, Cape Leeuwin, Cape Horn and the equator once again.
