The age of the captain:
The youngest entrant: Ellen MacArthur in 2000 - 2001 :she was 24
The oldest: Jose de Ugarte in 1992-1993:he was 62
The youngest winner of the Vendée Globe: Alain Gautier in 1993, who was 30
The oldest winner: Christophe Auguin at the age of 37
